Position Overview

The Trial Court Clerk IV, classified as Grade 27, oversees and manages a significant district court department within the 18th Judicial District. This supervisory role involves directing and participating in technical clerical activities, ensuring smooth operational flow under general guidance from the Clerk of the District Court. The position demands effective administrative, supervisory, and technical skills to handle a high volume and complex court functions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team engaged in technical clerical work for the district court.
  • Oversee the comprehensive functioning of a major court department managing substantial activity and complexity.
  • Perform limited administrative tasks associated with the department's operation.
  • Maintain communications and reporting with the Clerk of the District Court, with performance assessed via conferences and outcome-based reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma required with four years of clerical work experience, including at least three years of court-related clerical duties.
  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience is essential.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution may substitute for required clerical and/or supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary.
  • Typing speed requirement of 35 words per minute.
