Position Summary
The Trial Court Clerk II for the 28th Judicial District located in Ottawa County, Kansas, is responsible for receiving, docketing, and processing legal documents related to case records using computer systems. The role requires providing courteous and professional support to judges, attorneys, and the public. Additional duties include answering telephone calls and certifying legal documents, as well as completing tasks assigned by the Clerk of the District Court.
Compensation and Benefits
The position is classified as Grade 18 and offers an hourly wage of $18.75. State employment benefits are available as outlined through the Kansas Judicial Branch's benefits program.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- At least one year of clerical experience is required; alternatively, completion of thirty college semester hours or its equivalent can substitute for the experience requirement.
- Proficiency in accurate computer data entry and use of common office equipment is essential.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Prior experience working within court systems or legal offices is advantageous.
