Job description

Role summary

This position is responsible for organizing business travel for top executives and other employees, including ticketing and hotel reservations. The role also oversees the travel function’s budgeting, vendor coordination, internal controls, reporting, and team performance to keep the service efficient, compliant, and cost-conscious.

Key responsibilities

  • Build the travel department budget by analyzing relevant data and preparing supporting schedules.
  • Track actual travel-section results against approved budgets, flag underperformance early, and act on improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong internal control framework for travel activities in line with AJVA standards and accepted best practices.
  • Make sure all travel-related processes are carried out as designed and follow the approved policies and procedures.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports for the company and department, meeting required standards and deadlines.
  • Keep a firm focus on expense control, ongoing process improvement, and traveler satisfaction.
  • Create and share business metrics that measure the effectiveness of the company’s travel program and supplier performance.
  • Apply vendor management practices to develop productive, cost-effective relationships with service providers.
  • Maintain a detailed record of vendor contract terms to maximize service value and minimize cost.
  • Regularly review the financial health of current and prospective suppliers.
  • Set yearly savings targets and deliver them without reducing service quality.
  • Lead subordinate staff, monitor their output, and assess performance through both formal and informal feedback.
  • Encourage continuous improvement in systems, processes, and working methods, with attention to international best practice, process efficiency, lower costs, and higher productivity.
  • Recommend updates to department policies and oversee the rollout of procedures and controls so that legal, procedural, and service-quality requirements are met.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management rules across the section.

Requirements

  • 6 to 10 years of relevant experience is required.
  • At least 3 years should be in roles with progressively greater managerial responsibility.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a Diploma in Travel Management is required.

The job purpose is to plan travel and arrange tickets and hotel bookings for top management executives and other employees. The position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is a full-time, onsite role.
