About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Transport and Logistics Officer to join the Zambia Revenue Authority. This position focuses on executing transport policies and strategies to maintain a cost-efficient and effective vehicle management system within the Authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee vehicle utilization by maintaining logbooks and utilizing electronic fleet management systems.
- Ensure all vehicles undergo timely servicing by managing service schedules.
- Conduct regular vehicle fitness inspections and supervise minor repairs.
- Monitor garage services to ensure compliance with ZRA standards.
- Guarantee all Authority vehicles are properly licensed and insured within required timelines.
- Provide expert advice regarding vehicle procurement and requirements.
- Obtain necessary police reports for vehicles involved in road accidents to support insurance claims.
- Identify and recommend vehicles that are suitable for disposal.
- Maintain an accurate and current register of all ZRA vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy.
- Ensure fuel and lubricant availability to sustain operations.
- Supervise drivers and mechanics to ensure their activities meet organizational standards.
- Monitor fuel withdrawals from approved stations and prepare consumption reports.
- Analyze vehicle fuel consumption patterns and suggest improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least a Grade Twelve School Certificate / General Certificate of Education Equivalent with five credits, including Mathematics and English.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Transportation, Logistics Management, or any relevant Bachelor's degree complemented by a Diploma in Transport and Logistics.
- A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in transport or logistics management.
- Membership with the Engineering Institute of Zambia and/or the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport is required.
