Tram Attendant - Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

Job Overview

As a Tram Attendant at RelaxAway in Half Moon Cay, you will be entrusted with safely operating company vehicles to transport guests across the island according to set schedules and routes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist guests safely while boarding and disembarking the tram, paying special attention to those with special needs.
• Coordinate with the Information booth and warmly welcome visitors at the welcome center fountain.
• Clearly communicate tour destinations to guests before boarding.
• Keep an accurate count of all guests entering and leaving the tram, verifying tickets.
• Drive the tram only on assigned routes and times, ensuring passenger safety.
• Provide guest pick-up and drop-off service at multiple island locations.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the tram vehicle.
• Promptly report any mechanical or maintenance issues of the tram to supervisors.
• Deliver courteous and efficient hospitality, thanking guests and encouraging return visits.
• Park the tram in designated areas at the end of each day.
• Maintain VHF radio communication and adhere to prescribed speed limits.
• Follow and support the company’s environmental policies.
• Support the Transportation Supervisor with additional duties as needed.

Education and Qualifications

• Minimum of two years driving experience.
• Hold a valid Driver’s License.
• Conversational fluency in English.
• Prior experience in guest-facing roles and customer service.

Skills and Competencies

• Skillful use of business computer applications; familiarity with accounting and payroll software is a plus.
• Proven ability to operate vehicles safely.
• Strong command of the English language for effective communication with guests.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with visitors.

Language Proficiency

• Clear, distinct, and polite spoken English for both employee and guest interactions.
• Proficient reading and writing in English to comprehend and follow written instructions and policies.

Physical and Other Requirements

• Good physical fitness to perform job duties.
• Strong customer service capabilities.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Capability to multitask and apply critical thinking skills.
• Preferred prior work experience in a related setting.
• Work environment is mostly climate controlled with low safety and health risks.
• Job may require working indoors and outdoors and operating machinery.
• Flexibility to work different shifts as necessary.
