Tour Guide - Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

Role Overview

As a Tour Guide at Half Moon Cay, you will lead and promote various guest activities with a focus on safety, engagement, and enjoyment within a Carnival Corporation destination. You will guide guests through tours, provide clear communication, assist with logistics and equipment, and foster an entertaining and memorable experience.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct engaging tours by welcoming guests warmly and using prepared scripts.
• Provide clear directions and commentary to ensure a quality experience.
• Encourage guest participation and promptly respond to their questions or concerns.
• Ensure guests fill out satisfaction surveys at tour end and promote extra activities professionally.
• Inspect and maintain tour gear for safety and readiness, reporting any issues to management.
• Store equipment properly and assist with setup and maintenance of activity areas.
• Enforce safety protocols throughout tours, including giving necessary briefings for water or adventure activities.
• Comply with environmental guidelines and promptly report hazards to maintain a safe and protected environment.
• Support team members during peak times or special occasions and perform other management-assigned duties.

Qualifications and Skills

• Basic education or equivalent experience; hospitality-related training is advantageous.
• Certified in First Aid and CPR.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Physically fit: capable of lifting 10 pounds, standing/walking on sand for extended durations, operating bikes, kayaks, fishing tools, and handling live animals.
• Must not suffer from motion sickness and able to work under prolonged sun exposure.
• Strong customer service focus, problem-solving aptitude, conflict resolution, and clear communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with proactive problem-solving skills and the capacity to multitask effectively under pressure.
• Excellent planning and coordination skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility to work shifts as required at various destination locations.
