About the Organisation

Innovation and technology are used to improve safety and reduce environmental impact.

What the Role Involves

As a Low-Speed Traffic Management Operative, you will carry out a range of site-based duties to support safe and efficient traffic flow. You will work with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors, and help maintain the quality and reliability of traffic management setups.

Working Pattern

Typical hours are between 40 and 48 per week. Although most shifts are during the day, the role can also involve evenings, nights, weekends, and periods away from home during busy seasons. You may also be included in an on-call rota, especially if you have access to a company van.

Benefits

  • Guaranteed hours with overtime opportunities and strong job security.
  • Access to rewards that can save around £400 per year.
  • A £500 welcome bonus in the first pay for qualified operatives, subject to terms.
  • Paid qualifications and access to an internal academy to support career development.
  • Company van once M1/M2 qualification is achieved.
  • 20 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Retail discounts, life assurance, and access to 24/7 GP appointments, free physiotherapy, and counselling for you and your family.
  • Two paid volunteering days each year.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay, subject to terms.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Electric and Ultra Low Emission Vehicle salary sacrifice scheme, subject to terms and conditions.
  • Referral reward of £750 for introducing a qualified 12ab operative to the high-speed teams, subject to scheme rules.

Requirements

  • Minimum traffic management qualification of M1/M2; SLG Unit 2 may also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of Chapter 8 regulations.
  • Full driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Any driving ban must have ended at least 5 years ago.
  • Must pass drug and alcohol screening before an offer can be confirmed.
  • Positive, practical, and can-do attitude.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, remain flexible, and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work weekends, nights, and away from home when needed.
  • Traffic management training is subject to signing a training agreement.
  • Employment may also require medical assessments.

Equal Opportunity and Recruitment Notes

The employer states that applications are welcomed from women, veterans, and people with disabilities. Candidates who meet the core criteria are guaranteed an interview. Reasonable adjustments can be arranged during recruitment if needed. The organisation also states that it is committed to diversity, inclusion, and fair recruitment practices.
