About Sulco and the Role

Sulco, a prominent automotive tool and equipment supplier in New Zealand for more than 50 years, is part of the GPC Asia Pacific group alongside brands such as Repco and NAPA. We specialize in importing, distributing, and supporting leading global tool and automotive equipment brands tailored for top automotive repair workshops. We are seeking a Tools Sales Representative to contribute to Sulco's continued growth and strengthen customer relationships within your assigned region. This position offers a dynamic and supportive environment to advance your sales career.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee and expand a portfolio of current clients while prospecting for new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sister GPC companies to broaden market presence and share.
  • Plan and execute weekly sales engagements and client visits to maximize sales outcomes.
  • Maintain precise customer profiles and ensure stock availability meets client demands.
  • Promote existing products and seasonal deals actively to customers.
  • Regularly provide updates on sales progress, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Help foster a safety-first culture, committing to safety at all times to ensure everyone returns home safely.

Note: The role includes physical tasks such as lifting, bending, climbing, and requires safe vehicle operation.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated proven success in sales and/or account management roles.
  • Mechanically knowledgeable with familiarity or interest in the automotive industry, particularly aftermarket parts.
  • Customer-oriented approach with a track record of nurturing and growing client relationships through personalized service.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and convey technical details effectively.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to maintain productivity and efficiency.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic aiming to drive sales aggressively.
