Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tool Change Setter/Fitter to join a reputable and expanding manufacturing company located in Blackburn. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a modern production environment involving injection and blow moulding machines, playing a pivotal role in improving production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute tool changes on injection and blow moulding equipment following setting sheets and target timeframes.
- Set up and install all required secondary production equipment.
- Complete tool change records thoroughly and punctually.
- Detect and report any defects in mould tools, dies, machinery, or related equipment.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks on equipment such as granulators and power packs when needed.
- Return tools to the toolroom after production cycles.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and consistently promote safety protocols.
- Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and boost efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- Previous manufacturing experience is highly advantageous.
- Proven experience performing tool and die changes on injection and/or blow moulding machines.
- Capability to read and work from setting sheets and standardized procedures.
- Possession of a forklift (FLT) license or previous forklift operation experience.
- Experience in lifting and slinging activities.
- Proactive mindset focused on problem solving and continuous improvements.
- Solid understanding of health and safety practices in manufacturing environments.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to participate in further training as required.

- Achieve or exceed target tool change times without sacrificing safety or quality.
- Contribute to reduced machine downtime and enhanced production output.
- Accurately complete all tool change documentation.
