Automotive Visualisation Graphic Designer Role

Join an innovative contract position as an Automotive Graphic Designer focusing on automotive visualisation and graphic design, transforming concepts into production-ready, high-impact graphics for vehicles. This role offers an engaging challenge involving detailed mapping of graphics onto complex 3D vehicle surfaces while working collaboratively with various design disciplines. You will have the opportunity to create striking 2D graphic expressions, apply them accurately to real-world vehicle materials, and contribute to defining brand-defining moments through advanced digital visualisation tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop impactful 2D graphic designs including typography, badges, decals, and vehicle liveries tailored to automotive project needs.
• Precisely convert 2D artwork onto sophisticated 3D vehicle surfaces ensuring distortion-free, perfectly aligned outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with exterior, interior, component designers, and clay/digital modelers to maintain consistent surface design language.
• Prepare highly detailed digital models for advanced rendering and real-time Virtual Reality (VR) reviews to support design evaluation and approvals.
• Explore and apply cutting-edge design technologies including AI-assisted tools, generative design, and parametric workflows.
• Support prototype creation by preparing and scaling vector plots for validating physical decals and liveries.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive professional experience in graphic design with a strong focus on automotive graphics.
• Proven success in designing decals, stripes, badges, or liveries in automotive projects.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop.
• High proficiency in industry-standard visualisation and rendering programs such as Autodesk VRED and/or Unreal Engine.
• Comprehensive knowledge of accurately mapping graphics onto complex 3D vehicle surfaces with keen technical precision.
• Relevant degree in graphic design, automotive/transportation design, industrial design, digital modeling, or substantial equivalent practical experience.

Additional Information

• Umbrella rate: £30.18 per hour initially, increasing to £39.55 per hour after 12 weeks, inside IR35 regulations.
• Contract duration: Until the end of 2027.
• Location: Based at Here East with a hybrid working model - 4 days onsite per week and 1 day remote from home.
• This role supports the company’s objectives by bolstering brand identity and ensuring graphic design consistency from concept through immersive VR reviews and prototype approval.
