Role overview

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Tender & Quotation Specialist to prepare bids, estimates, and quotations that align with customer specifications, budget expectations, and the company’s commercial goals. The role focuses on building competitive offers while protecting margin and maintaining a healthy balance between Hitachi Energy units and customers in the assigned area.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by selecting the most suitable product mix and weighing technical as well as commercial factors for each opportunity.
  • Ensure all tender documents are complete, accurate, timely, and supported by detailed cost breakdowns.
  • Own the technical, financial, and where needed project-related inputs for each offer, including technology selection, price sheets, cash flow analysis, engineering hours, and commissioning effort.
  • Coordinate editing inputs so they are delivered on schedule and in line with quality procedures.
  • Manage outside support needed for tender preparation, such as translation work and government approvals.
  • Maintain an organized record of all offer and order documents, along with the assumptions and decisions made during the bidding process.
  • Track bid status regularly using the approved tools and review the reasons for wins and losses.
  • Spot commercial and contractual risks in bids, quotations, estimates, and related agreements, and contribute to the formal risk review process as required.
  • Build strong customer relationships to better understand requirements and deliver a positive experience throughout the sales cycle.
  • Support Sales Managers during technical discussions with customers whenever technical input is needed.
  • Work in compliance with all relevant internal policies, external regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate Hitachi Energy’s values of safety and integrity by taking ownership of actions and showing care for colleagues and the business.

Background and profile

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and bring 4 to 5 years of experience within the local unit. A strong cross-functional understanding of local business processes is expected, along with hands-on exposure to electrical substation work across all related aspects. The role also calls for strong connections with the local management team, a delivery-focused mindset, and the ability to propose practical solutions that create business value. Candidates should be comfortable representing business needs, bringing fresh ideas, and questioning the status quo when appropriate. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, and fluency in both spoken and written English and Arabic is required.

Eligibility

This position is suitable for experienced electrical engineering professionals with a background in electrical substations, bid and quotation preparation, and strong bilingual communication skills in English and Arabic. Applicants should be able to work onsite in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia.
