About the role

An opportunity is available for a Tenancy Manager based in Ingle Farm, South Australia. The role focuses on building positive relationships with tenants and supporting stable, sustainable tenancies within the community housing portfolio.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain tenancies across the portfolio, including keeping leases current, arranging inspections and reviews, and handling rent review processes.
  • Update and manage tenant information accurately in CHINTARO.
  • Ensure all tenant data is maintained in line with Salvation Army Housing SA timelines, standards and procedures.
  • Respond to high-risk tenant situations within required timeframes and in accordance with The Salvation Army policies and procedures.
  • Help assess tenant concerns, needs and personal circumstances.
  • Create practical responses to tenant needs while working within relevant policies, procedures and Residential Tenancies Act requirements.

The organisation is seeking someone who is motivated to support vulnerable people and help them achieve successful tenancies and long-term housing stability. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a broad range of people and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Eligibility and requirements

  • An associate diploma with relevant experience, or a lower formal qualification supported by substantial relevant experience.
  • Background in tenancy management, property management or client support, with a clear commitment to positive housing outcomes.
  • Good understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and the ability to apply its legal requirements in affordable and community housing settings.
  • Working knowledge of tenancy legislation, or a willingness to develop it, along with confidence in managing leases, arrears, inspections and tenancy-related issues.
  • Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to support tenants experiencing complex challenges in a respectful and empathetic way.
