Job description
Role Summary
This position sits within the FP&A function and supports core planning and analysis work such as budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, financial analysis, and business performance reviews. The role is focused on turning financial data into practical insights, strengthening planning and reporting processes, and working closely with business stakeholders to support better decisions.
In addition to day-to-day analysis and reporting, the role also contributes to process enhancement, automation efforts, and capability development within the FP&A team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly MIS cycle, management reports, and business performance reviews by ensuring financial and operational information is consolidated, reviewed, and presented accurately and on time.
- Coordinate annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans by working with business teams, reviewing assumptions, and building financial projections.
- Carry out detailed variance analysis across actuals, budget, forecast, and previous periods to explain key drivers, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Work with business leaders and cross-functional partners to provide financial insights that improve decision-making and overall business performance.
- Create and maintain financial models, dashboards, and analytical tools to support profitability assessment, cost control, and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare leadership presentations, business review packs, board materials, and executive summaries by converting complex data into clear and actionable messages.
- Identify ways to streamline, standardize, and automate reporting and planning activities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and governance.
- Maintain compliance with reporting standards, financial controls, and organizational governance requirements while safeguarding data integrity across planning and reporting.
- Support and mentor junior team members on financial analysis, reporting processes, stakeholder coordination, and FP&A best practices.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, business transformation efforts, and digital finance programs that improve organizational effectiveness and support long-term goals.
Technical Focus Areas
Budgeting and forecasting, MIS reporting, variance reporting, automation, and transformation initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
A degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration is required. A CA, CMA, or MBA in Finance is preferred.
The role requires 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in FP&A, business finance, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management in a corporate or shared services environment.
Strong capability in financial planning, variance analysis, financial modelling, business performance reviews, and management reporting is expected, along with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
Hands-on exposure to ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle, and analytics/reporting tools such as Power BI, SAC, Tableau, or similar systems is preferred. Experience with automation and digital finance initiatives will be an added advantage.
The role also calls for strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and stakeholder management skills, plus the ability to work independently, coordinate with senior business leaders, and drive process improvements.
