Role Purpose

The role of Deputy Manager serving as Shift Engineer - PECVD centers on managing operation and upkeep of PECVD (Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition) equipment through shift-wise oversight. This ensures production runs efficiently while troubleshooting technical challenges and maintaining high equipment availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage PECVD machinery for optimal functioning and dependable thin film deposition processes.
  • Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, diagnose root causes, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Fine-tune PECVD parameters such as gas flow, temperature, and pressure to enhance uniformity and efficiency of solar cell films.
  • Enforce corrective and preventive actions for major breakdowns to boost equipment reliability long term.
  • Perform stringent quality inspections on thin film thickness, uniformity, and adhesion to maintain product standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards throughout PECVD operations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of operating parameters, maintenance activities, production data, and daily performance logs.
  • Lead, mentor, and train a team of technicians and operators to encourage a culture of safety and ongoing process improvement.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process enhancements within the diffusion area to drive operational excellence.

Collaboration

  • Coordinate internally with Lead and Head of Cell Maintenance and fellow Shift Engineers.
  • Engage externally with equipment vendors, maintenance service providers, and regulatory bodies.

Professional Competencies

  • Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies, process control, and production operations management.
  • Strong commitment to safety, environmental standards, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering is required (B.E/B.Tech preferred).
  • 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in PECVD operations within the solar manufacturing sector, emphasizing process optimization and equipment maintenance.
