Role Overview

As Teacher in Charge of Biology, you will be the principal specialist in your subject area, assisting the Head of Department to ensure high-quality teaching across all platforms. Your responsibilities include teaching, mentoring colleagues, shaping curriculum content, and ensuring adherence to Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and A-Level standards. You will report directly to the Principal or Head of Department, teaching 20 out of 22 periods weekly, with 2 periods dedicated to subject leadership tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and provide personalized tutoring in Biology.
• Design lesson plans and resources fully aligned with Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and A-Level benchmarks.
• Maintain and update course content within the Learning Management System (LMS).
• Assist the Head of Department with quality assurance, conduct learning observations, and facilitate standardisation across teaching staff.
• Mentor, guide, and assist with onboarding of Biology teachers.
• Participate in curriculum evaluation, assessment planning, and preparation for examinations.
• Engage in post-exam analysis, implement intervention strategies, and monitor student progress.
• Advocate for innovative digital teaching methodologies and share exemplary practices.
• Promote student engagement through organizing competitions and supporting subject-related clubs.
