About the Role

Key Duties

Embody the GEMS core principles of innovation, excellence, lifelong learning, and global citizenship in teaching practices and student engagement.
Design and deliver stimulating lessons that adhere to curriculum requirements and utilize inquiry-based learning methodologies.
Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate varied learner needs including English Language Learners and gifted students.
Promote a supportive and respectful classroom environment encouraging collaboration, curiosity, and student wellness.
Incorporate technology and modern teaching techniques to enrich educational experiences.
Evaluate student learning through diverse and authentic assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to plan integrated units and enhance curriculum development.
Engage in extracurricular activities and community initiatives to support comprehensive student development.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field coupled with a recognized teaching certification such as PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent in Mathematics.
Experience teaching High School Mathematics, with preference for familiarity with American or IB curricula.
Ability to inspire and motivate students, facilitating meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, coupled with a collaborative and reflective teaching approach.
Dedication to continuous professional growth and fostering an inclusive, positive school culture.
