Teacher (AWWA School @ Bedok)

Role Overview

The position involves crafting and executing Individual Education Plans (IEP) or Individual Transition Plans (ITP), closely tracking student development and accomplishments, assessing their learning progress, and compiling progress reports.

Teaching Responsibilities

• Develop daily lesson plans and weekly co-curricular activities, delivering comprehensive lessons across curriculum areas aligned with the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework accommodating diverse learning needs.
• Apply targeted intervention approaches and positive behavioral supports to enhance student conduct.
• Create a nurturing and secure learning atmosphere extending beyond personal classrooms that promotes effective student learning.
• Support and guide Teacher Assistants in instructional methods and learning facilitation.

Collaboration and Coordination

• Collaborate effectively with the IEP team and families to encourage comprehensive student growth, facilitate positive learning experiences, and manage transitions.
• Assist with the organisation of school events and participate actively in committees.
• Innovate and exchange fresh teaching ideas with colleagues at both departmental and school-wide levels.
• Lead discussions and case conferences relating to IEPs.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and development initiatives.

Additional Duties

• Attend relevant meetings, case discussions, home visits, and staff development sessions.
• Fulfill classroom and committee administrative tasks, ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
