Job description
Role overview
This position sits within Talent Acquisition and reports to the Head of Talent. The role is based at Purplle HQ in Vikhroli, Mumbai, and is intended for an immediate joiner. It is a full-time opportunity at Senior Executive / Assistant Manager level, with an expected background of 3–7 years in talent acquisition.
Purplle is a fast-scaling beauty and personal care platform in India, expanding across categories, cities, and business verticals. In this role, you will act as the hiring partner for non-tech business functions and be accountable for end-to-end hiring outcomes, not just pipeline management.
What the role involves
- Own the complete recruitment cycle, from requirement intake through offer closure, for functions such as Category, Retail, Sales, Revenue, Operations, and Warehousing.
- Deliver hiring against timelines with a strong focus on turnaround speed and converting offers into joins.
- Create well-structured hiring processes, including precise job descriptions, strong shortlists, well-prepared interview panels, and market-aligned offers.
- Manage high-volume hiring needs during retail expansion, new city launches, and seasonal scale-ups without compromising quality.
- Develop and maintain active talent pipelines so new requisitions do not start from scratch.
- Serve as the main contact for assigned business teams and manage the relationship end to end.
- Conduct intake discussions with hiring managers, align on timelines, and keep all stakeholders accountable.
- Escalate hiring risks early, such as delayed interview loops, unrealistic role expectations, or market constraints, and propose practical fixes.
- Share regular updates on pipeline progress, interview outcomes, and offer-stage movement.
- Push back on misaligned role briefs or compensation where needed, supported by market data.
- Source beyond job boards by using referrals, passive search, LinkedIn, and niche talent communities.
- Build an understanding of the talent market for the relevant business functions, including availability, compensation trends, and candidate backgrounds.
- Use sourcing tools and AI-based helpers to speed up screening, improve job descriptions, and manage pipelines efficiently.
- Ensure every candidate has a positive experience through prompt communication, respectful treatment, and transparency.
- Provide clear timelines and honest feedback so candidates are never left uncertain about progress.
- Handle offer negotiations by understanding candidate drivers and closing confidently without making unrealistic commitments.
- Maintain accurate ATS records in real time, including activity notes, status changes, and feedback.
- Track key hiring metrics such as open roles, time-to-fill, offer acceptance rate, and source effectiveness.
- Prepare and share weekly hiring dashboards for stakeholders to ensure full visibility.
Requirements
- 3 to 7 years of talent acquisition experience, especially in non-tech hiring.
- A demonstrated history of closing hires successfully, with a focus on outcomes rather than only pipeline activity.
- Hands-on recruiting exposure across at least two of the following areas: Category Management, Retail, Sales, Revenue, Operations, and Supply Chain or Warehousing.
- Prior experience in a fast-moving startup, D2C brand, FMCG company, modern retail setup, or e-commerce business.
- Strong sourcing ability with the capability to attract and engage passive candidates.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to set expectations and challenge constructively when needed.
- Clear, direct, and professional communication style with both candidates and business leaders.
- Advantageous, though not mandatory: experience with bulk or volume hiring across multiple cities or store formats.
- Comfort using ATS tools such as Keka, Darwinbox, Lever, Greenhouse, or similar systems.
- Additional pluses include exposure to employer branding, campus hiring for non-tech roles, and AI tools for sourcing or recruitment operations.
Success expectations
- Within the first 30 days: understand the open roles and business context deeply, build strong pipelines for priority positions, and establish stakeholder relationships across functions.
- Within the first 90 days: close critical openings with quality hires, achieve an offer-to-joining conversion above 80%, and become a trusted partner that business teams approach proactively.
Why join Purplle
- Work with one of India’s leading beauty and personal care brands, where candidates are eager to join.
- Be part of a Talent Acquisition function that has direct influence on business growth.
- Operate in a high-ownership, fast-paced environment with continuous learning opportunities.
- Join a leadership team that treats talent as a strategic priority.
- Grow with the company as it expands across categories and geographies.
