Job purpose

Emirates Flight Training is a forward-looking training department that applies Competency Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) across its programmes and is among the limited number of operators worldwide delivering full Evidence Based Training (EBT). The team is committed to ongoing development and standardisation so that training staff are equipped with current methodologies and can meet the high standards expected by Emirates.

With Emirates Airline continuing to expand, the Flight Training department is looking for experienced aviation professionals for non-flying, ground-based Synthetic Flight Examiner roles. The position focuses on simulator pilot checks, licensing tests, instructor assessments, competence validations (AOC), and EBT programmes, all delivered in line with regulator requirements and internal policies.

Key duties

• Deliver type rating instruction in FSTD environments and conduct ground school sessions in accordance with company procedures and operational requirements.
• Carry out recency training based on the approved syllabus whenever required by the business.
• Provide transition training on fixed-base and full-flight simulators.
• Train instructors and examiners in simulator-based settings.
• Prepare precise, detailed trainee reports and assessments using the existing electronic reporting platform, following company policy and guidance.
• Advise on extra or corrective training for trainee pilots who are not meeting expected progress standards.
• Share recommendations with training leadership on improvements that can enhance efficiency, safety, training quality, and standardisation of methods and teaching practices.
• Assist with ad hoc assignments, course creation, and other duties as needed.

Qualifications and experience

• Current or previously held ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License).
• At least 1,500 hours of flight time on a multi-pilot aircraft.
• Minimum 6 months of active TRI/SFI experience.
• Valid SFI/TRI certificate for the relevant aircraft type.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities.

Salary and benefits

The role offers an annual base salary of up to AED 423,360 (USD 115,265).
