Job description

Role overview

This senior leadership position is responsible for directing pharmacy operations across a growing multi-location pharmacy network. The focus is on creating order, consistency, accountability, and operational rigor while keeping the patient experience a clear point of difference.

The ideal candidate is an execution-oriented pharmacy operator who understands the day-to-day mechanics of high-performing pharmacies, including staffing, cost control, performance metrics, and scalable operating rhythms. This role is not intended for someone focused only on specialty pharmacy, clinical work, or high-level strategy detached from operational delivery.

The SVP of Pharmacy Operations will be accountable for pharmacy results across staffing frameworks, policies, procedures, workflows, metrics, cost-to-dispense discipline, volume, and patient/client experience. This leader will work closely with commercial, clinical, finance, technology, and executive teams to ensure pharmacy operations enable growth rather than slow it down.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee pharmacy operations across the network to drive consistent execution, service standards, compliance, and disciplined operating practices.
  • Design and implement scalable workflows, staffing approaches, policies, procedures, KPI structures, and operating standards.
  • Lower cost per fill through better labor deployment, vendor savings, process improvements, higher volume, and stronger operational efficiency.
  • Cut down executive-level escalations by preventing issues, identifying root causes, clarifying decision ownership, and strengthening accountability.
  • Improve patient and client satisfaction through quicker dispensing, dependable service, stronger reliability, and more consistent interactions.
  • Collaborate with commercial, clinical, finance, technology, and executive stakeholders to align pharmacy operations with growth objectives.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in multi-site pharmacy operations.
  • Background in health-system retail, outpatient, ambulatory, community, or blended pharmacy settings is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in standardizing workflows, staffing models, KPIs, operating cadence, and performance expectations.
  • Strong financial understanding, including cost per fill, pharmacy volume, labor management, reimbursement, and P&L impact.
  • Ability to lead effectively in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment while remaining closely connected to execution.
  • Active Registered Pharmacist license is required; a PharmD is preferred.
  • Employment is contingent on passing a background check, drug screening, and verification of the required license.
  • Applicants must have U.S. work authorization and must not require current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Remote work is available only within the United States, and candidates must live in a state where the employer is authorized to hire.
  • Candidates located in California, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, and Washington are not eligible for this role.

Perks

  • Target base pay of $220,000 to $250,000.
  • Performance-based incentive opportunity.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
