Role Overview
The SVP & Head of Credit for Corporate Core in Dubai is responsible for ensuring the high-quality oversight of credit transactions, maintenance of credit policies, process adherence, and leadership of the credit analyst team within the corporate credit portfolio. This role requires strong collaboration with different departments and continuous monitoring of credit risks and portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee periodic reviews by analysts to monitor all transactions to detect any potential issues early.
- Maintain and consistently update superior credit policies and programs to ensure they meet high standards.
- Ensure credit applications submitted comply with standards and formats, aligning processes with agreed turnaround times.
- Monitor credit exposures proactively to identify potential problems at an early stage.
- Provide the Credit Committee members with the necessary information for informed decision-making.
- Support the Risk department with regulatory reporting and audit inquiries as required by the Central Bank.
- Work in close partnership with key stakeholders from coverage, product, and risk teams to enable smooth and efficient operations.
- Stay informed on the latest developments across various industries within the assigned portfolio.
- Apply deep understanding of transaction structuring and risk analysis.
- Manage ad-hoc projects or responsibilities assigned by the Head of Division.
- Ensure underwriting memos are well drafted by the business, incorporating key underwriting terms and liquidity assessments.
- Conduct regular monitoring of the credit portfolio's key parameters, minimizing deviations from credit policies.
- Organize periodic underwriting portfolio meetings with involved stakeholders.
- Advise coverage teams on risk factors linked to complex transactions and high-risk industries including essential risk mitigation clauses.
- Oversee due diligence processes for prospective transactions to address emerging risks within term sheets and credit applications.
- Participate actively in client meetings to provide guidance on risk elements, acceptable structures, and due diligence procedures.
- Provide leadership to the analyst team ensuring credit analyses and proposals meet internal standards and policies.
- Plan and anticipate future skill and capacity requirements within the department and work towards fulfilling these needs.
- Promote cross-training and professional development of staff to optimize resource usage and retain key talent.

This position is based onsite in Dubai and is designated for Emiratized applicants, reflecting the bank's nationalization objectives.
