Job description
About Javvy
Javvy Coffee aims to revolutionize everyday café drinks by creating better-for-you beverage options that are both delicious and convenient without compromising on quality. Originating as a direct-to-consumer cult-favorite brand, Javvy has rapidly grown into an omnichannel enterprise, expanding its presence in major retail outlets while cultivating a loyal community around its innovative café offerings.
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Supply Chain Manager to oversee co-manufacturing operations, production scheduling, and conversion cost strategies across our external manufacturing network. This mid-to-senior level individual contributor position involves managing relationships with multiple manufacturing partners rather than a single facility. The successful candidate will directly influence product availability, timely deliveries, and company profitability by managing contract negotiations, capacity planning, and SKU allocation to production plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead production scheduling throughout Javvy's co-manufacturing partners by translating demand and supply plans into confirmed manufacturing timelines.
- Oversee daily production activities, including scheduling changeovers and coordinating quality procedures from quarantine to product release.
- Develop and nurture strong manufacturing partnerships focused on quality, reliability, scalability, and strategic growth.
- Qualify and onboard new co-manufacturers through audits, quality agreements, trial production runs, and initial product approvals.
- Maintain rolling production forecasts and monitor plant capacity to proactively plan dual-sourcing strategies to avoid shortages.
- Negotiate conversion and tolling rates encompassing changeover fees, minimum order quantities, volume tiers, waste and yield metrics, and price escalations.
- Manage SKU-to-plant allocation optimizing for cost efficiency, freight, production capability, capacity, risk mitigation, and alignment with product roadmaps.
- Collaborate across departments including Procurement, Planning, Operations, Finance, R&D, and Quality to maintain supply chain continuity.
- Support the scale-up of new products and formulation modifications by coordinating manufacturing efforts.
- Act as the primary contact for managing production disruptions, expediting materials, and reallocating production volumes to maintain supply flow.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, food safety, and quality standards among manufacturing partners.
- Enhance production planning and co-manufacturer management processes to support growth.
- Develop and track co-manufacturer performance metrics such as on-time-in-full delivery, completion rates, unit costs, and yield through scorecards.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews and implement corrective action plans to improve partner performance.
- Manage production and inventory systems including work orders, bill of materials, and quality quarantine release processes within NetSuite.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing co-manufacturing or contract manufacturing operations.
- Proven ability handling production scheduling and capacity planning for multiple manufacturing partners.
- Expertise in tolling and conversion cost negotiations with demonstrated success in cost reduction.
- Track record using performance management tools such as scorecards and quarterly reviews to drive improvements.
- Experience in onboarding and qualifying new contract manufacturers.
- Skilled at managing production disruptions with a calm and structured problem-solving approach.
- Background in high-growth companies, preferably within CPG food & beverage or similar regulated consumer goods sectors.
- Understanding of how manufacturing decisions impact financial metrics including margin, cash flow, and inventory.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills driven by data-based decision-making.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP software; experience with NetSuite is highly desirable.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Effective cross-functional collaborator with strong ownership and delivery focus.
Benefits
- Competitive salary package.
- Fully paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance for employees; family coverage available at employee cost.
- 401(k) retirement savings plan.
- Parental leave benefits.
- Complimentary access to Javvy products.
- Opportunities for career advancement.
- Work within a collaborative and energetic startup environment.
