Job description
Overview
We are in search of an experienced senior leader to oversee the full spectrum of pharmaceutical supply chain activities throughout European markets. This role involves managing the complete flow from external manufacturing partners to final distribution to patients, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. You will serve as the principal supply chain liaison to General Managers and leadership teams regionally, fostering strategic partnerships with contract manufacturing organizations, logistics companies, warehousing services, and distributors.
This position offers a hybrid working model, requiring attendance in the Dublin office one day per week.
Responsibilities
- Direct all European supply chain processes to maintain uninterrupted supply and manage inventory at optimal levels.
- Lead collaborations with CMOs, warehouse teams, logistics providers, and distribution partners to ensure alignment and performance.
- Supervise supply planning activities by integrating commercial demand forecasts with manufacturing and inventory strategies.
- Evaluate supplier and logistics performance using quality, service, delivery, and cost metrics.
- Handle urgent supply challenges and mitigate risks effectively.
- Oversee the supply chain budget and financial management.
- Work closely with Quality, Regulatory, Legal, and Finance departments to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
- Support initiatives including product launches, lifecycle management, and serialization tasks.
- Champion ongoing improvements for the supply chain network's efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of supply chain expertise within pharmaceutical, biotech, or specialty healthcare sectors.
- Demonstrated experience managing supply chains across various European countries.
- Proven success working with contract manufacturing organizations, logistics, and distribution networks.
- A degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related scientific field is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GDP (Good Distribution Practice) standards.
- Hands-on experience managing budgets and financial aspects of supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with SAP or comparable ERP systems.
- English fluency is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Rare Diseases, Specialty Pharma, Biotechnology, or Oncology sectors.
- Background in outsourced manufacturing or virtual pharmaceutical models.
- Familiarity with serialization processes and product launches.
- Additional European languages are a plus.
