Job Overview
The role requires a professional with significant experience in the oil & gas, refinery, petroleum, power projects, and infrastructure sectors. The incumbent will develop inspection requirements for static, rotary, piping, and packaged items following technical specifications and code standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead kick-off and pre-fabrication meetings with suppliers independently.
- Evaluate supplier quality documents including inspection test plans, welding procedures, non-destructive examination procedures, and heat treatment procedures ensuring alignment with project quality programs.
- Apply knowledge of ASME Sections VIII Div 1, IX, V, II, API standards (610, RP 582, 934), and AWS D1.1.
- Manage metallurgy aspects involving Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, LAS, and Duplex materials.
- Possess expertise in various welding processes and comprehend essential and non-essential variables.
- Conduct stage-wise and final inspections at supplier locations (both local and international), adhering to approved inspection plans and specifications for static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns), rotary equipment (pumps, compressors), and piping components (valves, flanges, fittings, pipes).
- Perform audits to ensure supplier compliance with project standards.
- Plan, conduct, and participate in quality and technical audits verifying project quality program effectiveness.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors concerning quality-related aspects of the project.
- Support project teams during quality assurance audits by clients, management, or regulatory bodies.
- Identify quality issues, initiate documented corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness.
- Implement and maintain a lessons learned program to capture insights during project execution.
- Prepare reports and presentations for project management reviews.
- Handle supplier quality assignments autonomously.
- Participate in or conduct apparent cause and root cause analyses when necessary.
- Prepare inspection reports and authorize final inspection releases.
Candidate Qualifications and Expectations
- Engineering degree holder with 12 to 15 years of relevant experience.
- Willingness to undertake domestic and international assignments, including short-term travel to supplier facilities.
- Flexibility to work during evening hours to coordinate with international suppliers and company counterparts.
