Job description
Role Overview
The Operations Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operation and maintenance activities of all facility systems within the Primary Nursery Facility in NEOM. This includes supervision of multiple electro-mechanical systems as well as coordination of support services like Janitorial, Horticulture, Pest Control, Waste Management, and Office Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and organize daily operations of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) and electro-mechanical equipment at the facility.
- Monitor and control devices such as motor control centers (MCCs), pumps, variable frequency drives (VFDs), fans, instruments, emergency generators, air handling units (AHUs), and chillers.
- Schedule operational tasks, set priorities, and ensure coordination of maintenance and project works.
- Perform periodic inspections and track system performance to maintain facility reliability and compliance with operational standards.
- Analyze system data including operating parameters, alarms, and set points to initiate corrective measures and improvements.
- Respond rapidly to emergencies, equipment malfunctions, and any disruptions to facility operations.
- Assist in root cause analysis investigations, support commissioning, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee contractors and service providers responsible for janitorial, horticulture, pest control, waste management, and office support services.
- Address customer complaints effectively, manage critical issues, and monitor service delivery according to defined KPIs.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- 4 to 6 years of experience in Facility Management, Operations, or equivalent roles.
- Hands-on experience operating and monitoring MEP and electro-mechanical systems.
- Solid understanding of facility equipment including MCCs, pumps, VFDs, generators, AHUs, chillers, fans, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and familiarity with MEP commissioning processes.
- Experience handling contractors, coordinating service providers, and evaluating operational KPIs.
- Strong abilities in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem solving, and implementing corrective actions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, coordination, analytical, and customer service capabilities.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, capable of working under pressure, and effectively responding to emergencies.
