Role Overview
This position is responsible for shaping long-term direction by leading strategic planning, analysing the market, and creating high-value initiatives that strengthen growth and competitive position. The role turns senior vision into practical action and works across teams to make sure plans are aligned and delivered effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and coordinate the yearly strategic planning process, including setting objectives, deciding priorities, and allocating resources.
- Carry out detailed market research, competitor reviews, and trend analysis to spot risks and growth opportunities.
- Build business cases, financial models, and practical delivery plans for strategic initiatives.
- Assess and recommend possible merger and acquisition opportunities, with attention to parts of the operating model.
- Work closely with senior leaders and department heads to agree strategic priorities and track performance against key measures.
- Make sure strategy and planning support positive outcomes for both customers and colleagues.
- Prepare strong presentations and reports for executive stakeholders, clearly explaining findings and recommendations.
- Track the progress of strategic projects, identify barriers early, and put mitigation actions in place.
- Keep up to date with the wider business environment and emerging technologies.
- Encourage a company-wide, data-led approach to decision-making.
- Support the growth of team members by coaching them in strategic frameworks and analytical methods.
- Provide ad hoc analytical and strategic support to the Strategy & Transformation Director as needed.
- Escalate imminent danger, faulty equipment, defects in plant, equipment, structures, buildings, or unsafe practices to a manager without delay.
- Report accidents and incidents in line with company procedures and assist with any related investigations.
- Use and store personal protective equipment correctly and safely.
Additional Information: Remuneration and Benefits
The total package includes a salary of £85,000, plus either an £11,000 car allowance or a company car, along with a 15% bonus.
