This opportunity is presented by a partner company actively seeking a Strategy Director based in the United States. The role offers leadership over strategic initiatives aimed at driving growth and enhancing value across a varied portfolio of expanding companies.

The Strategy Director will act as a key adviser, collaborating closely with executive leadership and investment teams to steer long-term business transformations. Combining expertise in strategy consulting, operational insights, and hands-on implementation, this position is dedicated to creating tangible growth outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy function within the value creation team by setting priorities, developing strategic frameworks, and managing outcomes of strategic projects.
  • Work alongside senior leadership and investment partners to advance value creation and business transformation efforts.
  • Develop and refine strategy capabilities by establishing standardized methods, best practices, and comprehensive playbooks.
  • Partner with executive teams to design, execute, and assess strategic initiatives that foster business expansion.
  • Guide multi-year strategic planning meetings and value creation workshops to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and execution strategies.
  • Conduct detailed market research, competitive landscape analyses, and strategic evaluations to deliver actionable insights and executive-level recommendations.
  • Support commercial due diligence processes for new investments by assessing market potential, business models, and associated strategic impacts.
  • Manage engagements with external consultants, research collaborators, and advisory firms to advance strategic programs.
  • Prepare polished executive presentations, planning documents, and decision-making tools for senior stakeholders.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's MBA degree is highly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience within a premier strategy consulting firm, corporate strategy environment, or equivalent strategic leadership role.
  • Proven background working in fast-growth settings, especially with SaaS and recurring revenue models.
  • Preference for candidates with experience supporting private equity clients, commercial diligence, or portfolio value creation activities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in directly engaging with C-suite executives and independently conducting strategic planning sessions.
  • Strong analytical abilities to distill complex data into clear, practical strategies and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with a commanding executive presence.
  • High emotional intelligence for building relationships and managing dynamics with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and capable of both leading strategic initiatives and taking hands-on roles as necessary.
  • Effective decision-making skills, balancing visionary strategic thinking with pragmatic execution.
