About the role
This is a hands-on Storeperson opportunity within a friendly, team-oriented Defence Maintenance Contract operation at Simpson Barracks in Yallambie. The position offers a stable full-time schedule and the chance to work in a role that supports a balanced lifestyle outside of work.
What is offered
- Hourly pay of $32.72 plus superannuation
- Early finish at 12:00 pm every Friday
- Full-time hours: 38 per week, Monday to Friday
- Exposure to specialised Defence vehicles and assets

Role overview
Reporting to the Site Leader, you will help manage store and equipment processes efficiently so the site maintenance team can work productively and keep operations running smoothly.
Key duties
- Receive incoming goods and verify them against purchase or order documents
- Identify, tag, or label stock with the correct storage information
- Store items in bins, on racks, or in floor stacks when required
- Pick items from shelves to complete orders and cross-check them with picking lists
- Pack completed orders and arrange dispatch to customers
- Transport heavy items with forklift equipment
- Check stock locations and quantities using computer systems or visual display terminals
- Record delivery dockets, requisitions, and invoices in computer systems
About you
- You bring prior experience in stores accounting or a similar commercial environment
- You have strong customer service skills
- You hold a current forklift licence
- You have a valid driver’s licence
- You can communicate clearly and have solid problem-solving, writing, and analytical abilities
- You are comfortable using Microsoft applications, and experience with Defence systems is an advantage
- You are an Australian citizen and are able to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance
