Role Overview

This Storeperson position is focused on Defence Theatre Logistics based at Wadsworth Barracks, East Bandiana VIC. The role entails responsibilities encompassing warehouse operations, inventory management, freight handling, and ensuring the secure movement of Defence-related materials and equipment. This fast-paced environment demands accuracy, teamwork, accountability, and a priority on safety.

Responsibilities

  • Use warehouse management systems and material handling equipment to receive, store, pick, pack, and dispatch Defence equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Operate forklifts (LF license) and other warehouse machinery safely.
  • Maintain inventory control and generate reports to support stock accuracy.
  • Adhere to Defence regulations, safety protocols, and contractual standards under supervision.
  • Ensure the workspace remains clean, safe, and organized to meet operational and compliance requirements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in warehousing or logistics is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Possession of a current forklift license or willingness to obtain one.
  • Valid C class driver’s license.
  • Current NV 1 Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance.
  • Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks and work outdoors delivering stores to Defence personnel.
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork orientation, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Time management capabilities to meet deadlines in a dynamic work setting.
  • Australian citizenship and eligibility to pass comprehensive pre-employment checks including criminal history and medical assessments.
