Role Summary
Fairmont The Red Sea is looking for a highly organized and detail-focused Storekeeper based in Umluj, Saudi Arabia. The position is centered on running storeroom operations effectively, keeping inventory accurate, maintaining orderly storage spaces, and ensuring stock is handled with precision. This role supports the smooth day-to-day operation of the resort by controlling supplies, coordinating with departments, and keeping thorough records of all materials on hand.
Key Responsibilities
- Accept incoming deliveries, check them carefully, and record them correctly by comparing items, quantities, and quality with purchase orders.
- Keep storage areas tidy, safe, well-arranged, and easy to access by grouping items logically.
- Track inventory levels and maintain reliable stock records through inventory systems and manual logs.
- Carry out routine stock counts and reconciliations, identify mismatches, and escalate any issues to management.
- Work with department heads and team members to handle requisition requests promptly and professionally.
- Apply storage practices that protect goods from damage, spoilage, and loss.
- Follow all safety rules, health requirements, and internal policies within the storeroom.
- Prepare periodic reports covering stock levels, stock movement, and matters that need management review.
- Rotate inventory using the FIFO method to reduce waste and prevent spoilage.
- Maintain clear communication with suppliers, delivery teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve stock-related concerns.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in storeroom, warehouse, or inventory control functions.
- Strong planning and time management abilities, with a sharp eye for accuracy.
- Comfort with documentation and record maintenance.
- Ability to count, sort, and monitor inventory items accurately.
- Working knowledge of inventory systems and general computer use.
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Physical capability to regularly lift, carry, and move supplies.
- Understanding of safety practices in storage and materials-handling environments.
- Capacity to perform independently while also collaborating effectively with a team in a busy setting.
- Preferred: background in hospitality or luxury resort operations.
- Preferred: forklift certification or experience using material-handling equipment.
- Preferred: familiarity with FIFO inventory control methods.
