Position Overview

As a Stockperson/Cartpusher, you contribute significantly to maintaining a safe, organized, and inviting shopping atmosphere for customers. Your primary duties include retrieving shopping carts from designated areas such as cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeters, then returning them to their proper storage locations following approved Walmart procedures. This role emphasizes friendly customer interaction and adherence to safety standards, ensuring smooth store functionality while developing valuable skills in retail operations, teamwork, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather shopping carts from outdoor cart corrals, parking lots, and store outskirts and return them safely to assigned storage places according to company guidelines, ensuring accurate logging of activities.
• Attend promptly to requests from registers and customer service, assisting customers with carrying purchases and verifying proofs of purchase when necessary.
• Carry out occasional cleaning and upkeep tasks, including restroom maintenance, following established protocols for chemical usage, proper waste disposal, and safe handling of power tools; complete all necessary equipment inspections prior to use.
• Strictly follow safety and emergency procedures including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen management to maintain safety for customers and co-workers.
• Promote a hazard-free workplace by correctly using required personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes and reflective vests, conducting safety sweep checks, and complying with company health and safety policies.
• Exhibit schedule flexibility by being willing to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support continuous high-quality store operations.

Challenges to Anticipate

• Manage a high volume of tasks within a fast-paced setting, particularly during overnight shifts, staying focused and energized throughout.
• Execute physical activities including prolonged standing, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 pounds regularly, with occasional lifts up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive stocking, zoning, and organization duties consistently to meet store standards.

Compensation

The position offers a starting hourly wage of $17.75.
