Role Overview
The SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY initiative upholds a culture that emphasizes support and collaboration among its team. RA Tas invests in fostering an environment where staff are motivated and encouraged to contribute their diverse skills towards fulfilling the organization's vision. This role invites an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join the Stay ChatTY Student Wellbeing Program as a Student Wellbeing Officer. Employed under the National Student Wellbeing Program, this position partners with Department for Education, Children and Young People schools to promote emotional wellbeing among students and support the wider school environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with school wellbeing and student support personnel to enhance the emotional health of students and the school community.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, their families, and diverse community members, strengthening school-community connections.
Requirements
- Certificate IV or an equivalent qualification in Youth Work, Mental Health, Pastoral Care, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with children and young people within school settings.
- Demonstrated ability to foster strong connections across schools and communities.
- Knowledge and compliance with child safe standards, including the Child Safe Organisations Act and Reportable Conduct Scheme.
- Commitment to youth mental health and wellbeing and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong project management, communication, and organizational capabilities.
Position Details
- Location: Scottsdale High School, Tasmania.
- Working hours: 10 hours per week base, with possibility to increase to 12 hours weekly through 2026.
- Hourly Compensation: Commencing at $36.42 per hour.
