Job description
Position Overview
The role of Staffing Specialist I involves assisting the Staffing and Labor Management team in efficiently managing staffing resources through daily allocation and comprehensive data collection. This position supports the optimization of staffing assignments and improves scheduling processes while ensuring proficient use of scheduling software.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree is desirable.
- Experience in timekeeping and departmental scheduling is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze staffing and scheduling data.
- Generate and update daily staffing reports for the Staffing and Labor Management Office.
- Maintain current knowledge of scheduling software systems.
- Perform timekeeping adjustments using UKG software.
- Coordinate with nursing administration to ensure safe and appropriate staffing assignments.
- Prepare and present staffing plans during shift huddles.
- Collaborate with Nursing Administrative Supervisor on daily staffing updates, issues, and capacity management.
- Allocate resources for daily staffing needs.
- Handle call-ins from associates effectively.
- Work closely with Charge Nurses, Nurse Managers, and Nurse Directors to confirm that staff floated to different areas are competent to provide care.
- Manage utilization of on-call staff.
