Job description
Role overview
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Qualified Registered Nurse or a Student Nurse who has worked in an acute care environment to join Ward 37, a renal medicine team. This is a busy but rewarding post for someone who brings energy, commitment, and a conscientious approach to patient care.
The ward team is described as supportive, experienced, and patient-focused, with a strong emphasis on spending time with patients and families to help improve the quality of care. The role offers the chance to grow within a centre of excellence for clinical care and research.
What the role involves
This position combines clinical nursing with coordination duties. You will help organise outpatient activity so services run smoothly and waiting times stay as low as possible. You will also contribute to improvement work within the department and develop leadership skills with a focus on patient-centred care.
The post is designed for someone who wants to keep building knowledge, practical ability, and professional confidence in a supported setting.
Development and support
Although previous renal experience is not essential, you must be open to learning the specialty and helping move the service forward. The trust places importance on integrity, forward thinking, and a genuine interest in expanding the nursing role. In return, you can expect training opportunities both on-site and off-site, along with a personal development plan tailored to your needs.
