About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, upgrades, and ongoing support of all client technology systems, including desktops and virtual Windows servers.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support for the Trust's electronic patient record system, EPIC.
  • Offer technical guidance and assistance to colleagues to ensure the seamless delivery of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support services.
  • Collaborate with Digital IT Support and End User Technology teams to plan and implement high-quality end-user technologies, adhering to healthcare industry standards and EPIC best practices.
  • Administer and maintain supporting infrastructure and applications, including antivirus solutions, VDI environments, hardware asset management, and mobile device management tools.
  • Support the upkeep of the Trust's systems and applications across both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructures.
  • Advise on capacity and availability management, proposing effective and efficient solutions.
  • Lead the deployment, configuration, management, maintenance, and monitoring of all workspace devices, hardware, and software upgrades according to Trust standards.
  • Offer expert technical advice on safeguarding the security and confidentiality of the Trust’s PCs, mobile devices, and data against cyber threats.
  • Manage, monitor, and resolve incidents, problems, and service requests within designated areas, meeting all agreed-upon timelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the delivery of integrated digital support services, encompassing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support, with a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT support, particularly with client systems, desktops, and virtual Windows servers.
  • Familiarity with electronic patient record systems, ideally EPIC.
  • Experience in providing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line technical support.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure and application administration, including antivirus, VDI, hardware asset management, and mobile device management.
  • Understanding of on-premises and cloud-based system maintenance.
  • Experience with capacity and availability management principles.
  • Proficiency in managing and upgrading workspace devices, hardware, and software.
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles and data protection.
  • Experience in incident, problem, and service request management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for knowledge sharing.
