About the Role

Muiríosa Foundation invites applications for Staff Nurses, Social Care Workers, and Support Workers across various residential services in Westmeath, including locations like Mullingar, Multyfarnham, Kinnegad, Castlepollard, and nearby areas. These contract positions offer a chance to assist individuals with independent living skills, encourage community integration, and support their health and well-being in both individual and group residential environments.

Work Schedule

The role requires flexibility to cover shifts including day, evening, overnight with sleepovers, and waking night duties.

Requirements

  • Applicants must possess a recognized diploma in Social Care, Applied Social Studies in Social Care/Disability, or Social Care Practice (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications) approved by CORU. Social Care candidates should be registered or actively registering with CORU.
  • Nursing qualifications: Registered Nurse in Intellectual Disability, General, or Mental Health Nursing, registered with NMBI, or HSE-recognized Fetac/QQI Level 5 major award.
  • A valid manual driving license for Ireland is essential.
  • Experience in supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and autism is required.
  • Familiarity with HIQA standards is necessary.
  • Local community engagement skills are advantageous.
  • Strong initiative and effective planning capabilities are important.
  • Basic IT literacy, including email and word processing, is expected.
  • Applicants must demonstrate overall suitability for the role.
