Staff Nurse - Recovery

Job Overview

We are inviting passionate and driven Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) to join our supportive Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) team. In this role, you will be crucial in providing exceptional care to patients recovering from anaesthesia, working as part of a dynamic team committed to superior patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality recovery care to patients post-anaesthesia and surgery across diverse specialties including general surgery, orthopaedics, trauma, vascular, spinal surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics, and ENT.
• Provide support to busy Day Surgery Unit and Radiology services, including specialized paediatric and obstetric recovery areas.
• Manage Level 1 and 2 patients needing extended recovery or overnight observation, ensuring safe post-operative care.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must be a Registered General Nurse Level 1 with current NMC registration and IV certification.
• Post-registration relevant experience required.
• Experience working with patient information systems.
• Flexible working capability is essential.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• ENB 998, teaching and assessing course, or mentor preparation preferred.
• Recovery, HDU, or critical care related courses or qualifications advantageous.
• Experience in PACU, theatre, HDU, or ICU environments is a plus.
• Strong computer skills desirable.
• Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Nursing knowledge and clinical skills aligned with current best practice.
• Experience working with children and young people is beneficial.
