In this role, you will own key month-end close activities, support financial reporting, and contribute to stronger accounting processes in a collaborative, remote-first environment.
The position combines hands-on accounting work with analysis and cross-functional coordination. You will support reconciliations, accruals, reporting, audits, budgeting, payroll-related accounting, and equity accounting while helping improve efficiency, automation, and financial accuracy.
Key responsibilities
- Handle daily general ledger work, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for monthly and quarterly close cycles.
- Prepare and review financial reports for both internal use and external reporting needs.
- Investigate accounting differences, analyze financial data, and clearly explain meaningful changes and variances.
- Assist with payroll-related accounting, including reconciliation of benefits, taxes, 401(k), and related liabilities alongside HR and outside providers.
- Support audit readiness and work with external auditors and tax advisors to help maintain compliance.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting by providing analysis and financial insight.
- Assist with equity accounting, including stock-based compensation such as options and RSUs.
- Help refine accounting workflows with an emphasis on automation, scalability, and efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, applicable regulations, and GAAP.
- Take part in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis when needed.
Required background
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or general ledger functions.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and foundational accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, with strong attention to detail.
- Comfort using Excel and financial systems or reporting platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well across teams.
- Good organization and time management skills, with the ability to juggle several priorities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote setting.
- Preferred qualifications include CPA certification or progress toward it, experience with QuickBooks, and exposure to healthcare or PBM environments.
Benefits and compensation
- Competitive pay of $58,000 to $76,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
- Paid parental leave.
- Stock options participation.
- Paid time off and company holidays.
- Fully remote work flexibility.
- Opportunity for growth within a fast-moving organization focused on healthcare transformation.
