Role Overview
The Staff Accountant II position involves analyzing financial data and preparing detailed financial reports. This role handles moderately complex accounting tasks including account analysis, reconciliation, audit coordination, and financial statement review. It requires independent judgment adhering to company and departmental financial policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review government, regulator, and audited financial reports on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Manage cash reporting processes: daily reconciliations, weekly/monthly cash flow, and month-end journal entries.
- Conduct weekly revenue exception reviews and produce related revenue reports.
- Prepare comprehensive cash schedules for audits and assist with external and internal audit procedures.
- Oversee Singapore and Macau branch financials and collaborate with auditors for timely audit completion.
- Maintain company fixed asset records, including system updates, depreciation entries, and reconciliations.
- Address and research complex accounting queries and serve as a finance business partner across departments.
- Support data preparation for licensing and renewal jurisdictions.
- Track prepaid amortization and analyze accounts, including inventory overhead, utilization variances, and allowances.
- Compile accounting entries for general ledger and devise improvements for accounting systems and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of payables, receivables, invoices, purchasing, and cost center management.
- Assist with special projects as assigned and report discrepancies or issues to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience; gaming industry background preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Effective professional communication skills, both verbal and written, across all business levels.
- Ability to obtain and maintain gaming licensure.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position requiring 40+ hours weekly; flexibility to work overtime including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Work primarily in an office with limited space, requiring prolonged sitting and repetitive use of computer peripherals.
- Ability to function efficiently under high pressure, maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Work environment is smoke-free, with low to moderate noise and close proximity to coworkers.
