Role Overview
The Senior Accountant, Consolidations, plays a crucial role in maintaining the organization's financial backbone by ensuring accurate consolidated financial reporting for a global, multi-entity organization. This position involves managing the month-end close processes, intercompany eliminations, revenue reconciliations, and supporting audit readiness to facilitate transparent financial management that supports Water.org's mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full monthly financial close cycle, including journal entry preparation, balance sheet account reconciliations, and consolidated trial balance reviews to provide leadership with clear and accurate financial insights.
- Coordinate intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries across Water.org and subsidiaries to produce unified, audit-compliant consolidated financial statements.
- Perform weekly revenue reconciliations, collaborate with the Revenue Operations team on variance analysis, and oversee bank matching and payment platform settlements for various accounts.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for key balance sheet accounts and consolidation entries, assist with external audit requests, and contribute to quarterly Audit Committee reporting.
- Participate actively in process improvements, SOP development, and chart of accounts management to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Seven plus years of progressive accounting experience with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial close procedures, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Demonstrated expertise in intercompany accounting, consolidations, and managing multi-entity finance environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial and tax reporting standards.
- Hands-on experience with accounting information systems; proficiency with NetSuite ERP is highly preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
- High ethical standards, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments and time zones; proficiency in English is required.
Additional Information
This role requires up to 5% domestic and international travel.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a base salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 annually, flexible based on qualifications and skills, plus eligibility for an annual incentive plan up to 10%. Full-time benefits include medical, dental, life and disability insurance, retirement savings program, paid time off, paid holidays, and periodic merit and incentive reviews.
