About the Role

We are seeking an Accountant based in Dublin to uphold the integrity and precision of our EMEA regional general ledger. This role involves comprehensive accounting responsibilities ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day general ledger tasks including bank reconciliations, preparation and posting of journal entries, and review of accounting records
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for EMEA subsidiaries. This includes accruals, prepayments, bank entries, VAT/GST, corporate tax, intercompany reconciliations, and other relevant accounting duties
  • Compile and maintain various balance sheet reconciliations such as bank accounts, intercompany transactions, VAT, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals
  • Timely investigate and resolve any discrepancies in reconciliations
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and perform variance analysis
  • Assist with external audits by providing required documentation and support
  • Keep accounting policies, procedures, and documentation up to date
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation and system enhancements
  • Coordinate with outsourced providers for local accounting book preparation and financial statement generation where legally required, and liaise with local auditors to finalize audits
  • Support daily finance operations and ad hoc finance-related projects within the EMEA region
  • Collaborate effectively across departments including operations, policy, commercial, legal, customs, treasury, finance, and tax teams
  • Provide accounting expertise during new business launches, initiatives, and ongoing commercial activities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, finance, or related business field
  • Minimum two years combined public accounting or multinational corporate audit/accounting experience
  • Preferred three or more years of progressive experience managing general ledger accounting
  • Chartered accountant qualification or finalist status preferred

Skills

  • Solid grasp of financial reporting principles and accounting standards
  • Proficient in IFRS with working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience with financial statement preparation tools like Workiva
  • Meticulous, organized, and efficient in managing tasks and workflow
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate both independently and within teams
  • Strong communication skills to work with international teams
  • Adaptable to start-up environments with tight deadlines and fast-paced work
  • Advanced Excel capabilities including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex formulas
  • Familiarity with major ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or Workday
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
