Job description
Role Purpose
This position supports the financial controls and systems function by strengthening internal controls, checking adherence to financial policies and IFRS requirements, and helping improve finance processes and systems over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Help establish, update, and follow financial control frameworks, policies, and operating procedures.
- Review compliance with IFRS and internal finance rules, and flag exceptions or control weaknesses.
- Carry out control assessments and testing to evaluate how effective the controls are.
- Spot process gaps or inefficiencies and assist with corrective measures.
- Support the accuracy and completeness of financial records and reporting outputs.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing evidence and tracking audit observations through closure.
- Take part in finance process improvement work and system enhancement initiatives.
- Support ERP system use, validate data, and help ensure reporting is accurate.
- Track financial information and prepare basic trend and variance analysis.
- Work with teams across functions to improve the efficiency of finance operations.
- Keep clear records of processes, controls, and procedures in accordance with governance needs.
Qualifications & Experience
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required. The role calls for 4 to 6 years of experience in financial control, audit, or reporting. Candidates should bring strong analytical ability, a high level of attention to detail, working knowledge of IFRS and internal control frameworks, and exposure to ERP systems and finance transformation work. Professional qualifications such as ACCA or CPA are preferred.
