Sr. Executive - Legal - Associate Regional Counsel

Position Overview

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. is hiring a Senior Executive in Legal for the Associate Regional Counsel role based in Kolkata. This position calls for a legal professional who can support regional business operations, manage property-related documentation, and handle a mix of corporate advisory and litigation work.

Qualification

• LLB or LLM from a recognized university.

Experience Requirements

• Overall legal experience of 3 to 6 years is required.
• At least 1 year of practical court exposure is mandatory.
• A minimum of 4 years of corporate legal experience is mandatory.
• Previous exposure to the retail sector is required.
• Strong background in property-related legal agreements is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage property law work, including preparing, assessing, and finalizing lease deeds, leave and license agreements, sale deeds, memorandums of understanding, amendments, and renewals.
• Oversee litigation and court-related matters by coordinating with outside counsel, tracking cases, handling filings, and ensuring timely follow-ups.
• Advise business teams on routine corporate and operational legal matters.
• Draft, examine, and negotiate corporate contracts, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other commercial documents.
• Help ensure adherence to applicable laws as well as internal legal policies and standards.
• Act as the primary legal contact for regional stakeholders and support their legal requirements.
• Assist in evaluating legal risks and implementing measures to reduce exposure across property and retail operations.

Mandatory Skills

• Deep understanding of property law and real estate documentation.

• Comfort working with business, finance, and operations teams.
