Role Overview

We are seeking a Sports Trader passionate about the sports betting industry to join our team. Reporting directly to the VP of Sports Trading, this role plays a pivotal part in influencing revenue, profitability, and expanding market offerings. The position involves creating, managing, and adjusting betting odds using comprehensive data analysis throughout their lifecycle. Working hours require flexibility including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage risk and liability for Betr's sportsbook markets following established risk and trading procedures.
• Price and trade betting markets live, including in-play bets, adjusting odds according to betting activity, breaking news, and game progress.
• Keep track of league updates such as injuries, lineups, and weather to modify markets in real time during events.
• Determine and update both opening and closing betting lines aligning with market consensus and movements of sharp bettors.
• Oversee liability limits, exposure levels, and thresholds for bet acceptance across diverse accounts and markets.
• Analyze daily reports to verify customer profiles, account behaviors, hold rates, and other critical trading metrics.
• Work collaboratively with operations and technology teams to improve market breadth, reduce latency, and enhance user experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in trading within a sports betting platform.
• Strong analytical capabilities with expertise in odds calculation.
• Highly self-driven problem solver with a commitment to staying current on industry trends and best practices.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing work environment.
• Excellent communication skills, able to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects from start to finish with high standards.
• Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit coupled with excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
