Specialty Coffee Barista

Role Overview

We are searching for a dedicated Specialty Coffee Barista to join our team in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi Emirate. This position entails preparing and serving high-quality specialty coffee beverages adhering to company guidelines and brand standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in various manual brewing methods, maintain equipment calibration, and provide excellent customer experiences.

Primary Duties

• Prepare and serve specialty coffee drinks following standardized recipes.
• Calibrate espresso grinders and brewing tools to ensure consistent extraction and quality.
• Utilize manual brewing methods including V60, Chemex, French Press, AeroPress, and Cold Brew.
• Achieve consistent coffee flavor, presentation, and overall beverage quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of coffee machines and workspace.
• Educate customers about coffee origins, brewing techniques, and menu options to enhance their experience.
• Monitor coffee bean freshness and inventory levels, reporting restocking needs promptly.
• Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.
• Support promotional efforts for specialty drinks, retail coffee products, and food offerings.
• Assist in training junior baristas on preparation methods, service standards, and equipment handling.
• Keep an organized and efficient workflow, especially during busy periods.
• Deliver excellent customer service consistently while upholding brand expectations.

Required Experience and Skills

• At least 2 years experience as a Specialty Coffee Barista within premium or specialty café settings.
• Proficient knowledge of espresso extraction, grinder settings, milk frothing, and manual brewing techniques.
• Understanding of coffee bean origins, processing, roast types, and flavor profiles.
• Experience operating and maintaining professional espresso machines and related equipment.
• A strong passion for specialty coffee and commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
