Job description
About the Hospital
The Städtisches Klinikum Braunschweig gGmbH, located in Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, is a maximum care hospital with 1,499 planned beds, ranking among the largest hospitals in Germany. It comprises 21 clinics, 10 independent clinical departments, and seven institutes, covering nearly the entire spectrum of medical specialties. Annually, around 50,000 patients receive inpatient care and more than 200,000 are treated on an outpatient basis.
Department Overview
The generously sized and modernly equipped women's clinic performs a full range of gynecological and obstetric procedures with a dedicated and collegial team. Approximately 6,000 female patients receive inpatient care each year. The certified Breast Center diagnoses and treats over 400 primary mammary carcinomas annually.
In the family-friendly delivery ward, our team manages over 2,200 births per year, with a significantly high proportion being high-risk pregnancies. There is an opportunity to learn all standard delivery methods, including water births in birthing tubs. A senior physician is present on-site 24/7. The cesarean section operating room is located within the delivery suite, adjacent to the neonatal intensive care unit.
Medical and Surgical Services
The Level I Perinatal Center has been jointly operated with the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine since 2007. The clinic has authorization for further training in specialized obstetrics and perinatal medicine. All vaginal and abdominal surgical techniques are performed, including cancer surgery within the certified gynecological cancer center. Endoscopic procedures, urogynecological surgeries, and reconstructive pelvic floor surgeries are also conducted. The department features its own urodynamic and anorectal measurement facilities.
