Job description
About the Hospital
The Städtisches Klinikum Braunschweig gGmbH is a maximum care hospital located in Braunschweig, Germany, one of the largest in the country with 1,499 planned beds. It comprises 21 clinics, ten independent clinical departments, and seven institutes, covering nearly every medical specialty. Annually, nearly 50,000 patients are treated as inpatients and over 200,000 as outpatients.
Department and Work Environment
The well-equipped and spacious women's clinic is staffed by a dedicated and collegial team performing a full range of gynecological and obstetrical procedures. Approximately 6,000 female patients receive inpatient treatment yearly. The certified breast center diagnoses and treats more than 400 primary mammary carcinomas annually.
The family-friendly delivery ward manages roughly 2,200 births per year, with a significant proportion being high-risk pregnancies. There is the opportunity to learn all common delivery methods, including water births using a birthing tub. A senior physician is available around the clock every day. The cesarean section operating room is located inside the delivery ward, adjacent to the neonatal intensive care unit.
The Level I Perinatal Center has been operated collaboratively since 2007 with the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. Specialized training authorization in obstetrics and perinatal medicine is in place. The department performs all vaginal and abdominal surgeries, including cancer surgery within the certified gynecologic cancer center. Endoscopic procedures, urogynecological surgeries, and reconstructive pelvic floor operations are also carried out. Additionally, the department maintains its own urodynamic and anorectal measurement facilities.
