What you will do
You will own and support end-to-end payroll activity for Canadian employees, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. The role involves advanced case handling, complex issue resolution, payroll calculations, audit support, reporting, and collaboration with both internal teams and outside stakeholders.
- Lead full-cycle payroll processing and administrative activities.
- Handle payroll cases, escalations, and complex employee queries.
- Review gross-to-net results, perform balancing checks, and support payroll audits.
- Prepare deductions, remittances, and required statutory submissions.
- Support year-end activities such as T4 preparation and reconciliations.
- Compile provincial reports and analyze bi-weekly payroll and general ledger data.
- Manage Quebec-specific payroll requirements.
- Work with internal and external partners to resolve payroll issues.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements.
What you should bring
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent organization, and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment. This role requires advanced payroll system knowledge, analytical thinking, careful attention to detail, and a strong commitment to compliance and continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Canadian Payroll Association certification (PCP or CPM), or active progress toward completion.
- At least 5 years of experience in a large payroll environment covering multiple jurisdictions, including complex situations and escalations.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills in a fast-moving setting.
- Advanced proficiency with PeopleSoft or a comparable HRIS/payroll platform.
- Strong analytical ability, high attention to detail, and a process-improvement mindset.
- French and English fluency is required because the role works with national clients.
