Job description

Job Purpose

This position is a vital contributor to the Private Banking Credit team, providing recommendations on new credit and credit extensions by analyzing financial documents. The role offers support to UAE branches and the DSF with a core focus on reviewing mortgage loans credit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare credit transaction proposals and assess associated risks by reviewing client financial information and relevant documents.
  • Evaluate clients' credit data and financial statements to establish risk levels and support informed creditworthiness decisions.
  • Ensure credit documentation is complete to facilitate application processing and secure necessary approvals within delegated authority limits.
  • Efficiently manage exception cases such as incomplete or deferred security documents and ensure timely resolution within established standards.
  • Generate and submit accurate productivity reports punctually to the reporting manager.

Compliance and Procedures

  • Maintain adherence to audit requirements and both internal and external reporting standards in line with organizational policies and Central Bank regulations to guarantee consistency and uniformity.

Personal Development and Management

  • Set and pursue performance targets in consultation with the reporting manager, ensuring goals are met throughout the year.
  • Identify and agree on training needs to undertake necessary development activities.
  • Continuously improve proficiency in competencies and skills relevant to the role.
  • Stay updated with industry developments, techniques, and prevailing issues through ongoing training.

Interpersonal Conduct

  • Maintain professionalism and effective communication with team members and other departments.
  • Consistently fulfill individual responsibilities and duties.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Analyze client financial statements, including bank and audited statements, and review credit histories to align with lending standards.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete to prevent fraud.
  • Manage underwriting quality to minimize risk and align credit amounts with bank policies.
  • Identify and report credit risks and deviations, documenting these in recommendations for managerial approval.
  • Perform required system checks accurately and review processes thoroughly.
  • Verify that information is correctly updated in credit approval systems before moving applications forward.
  • Process applications within agreed timelines efficiently.
  • Conduct Evaluation Visits (EV) and Credit Portfolio Validation (CPV) when applicable.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Banking, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years relevant experience, with at least one year in a similar credit management role.
