About the Role
As an integral member of the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Team within the larger Compliance division, you will support First Abu Dhabi Bank’s Singapore operations including the Labuan Branch. The role focuses on maintaining robust programs across anti-money laundering (AML), counter-financing of terrorism (CFT), anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), as well as sanctions compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact and subject matter expert on AML/CFT, sanctions, and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes for FAB Singapore and Labuan Branch.
- Handle routine business-as-usual (BAU) tasks such as regular screening of customer databases, filtering of SWIFT messages, transaction monitoring, compliance monitoring reviews, and KYC reviews, ensuring timely completion.
- Execute compliance monitoring reviews aligned with the Annual Compliance Plan.
- Gather and prepare management information reports for local management committees and the Head Office on a periodic basis.
- Support or review periodic Enhanced Wash Risk Assessments (EWRA) for the Singapore and Labuan locations from a FCC standpoint.
- Help develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive FCC Program integrating best practices within corresponding FCC policies and procedures to ensure strong, effective compliance across the regions.
- Assist the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in ensuring the FCC Program remains appropriate and up-to-date.
- Provide counsel and recommendations on FCC-related matters.
- Offer cross-support to the broader Singapore Compliance Team when required.
- Undertake additional ad hoc duties as assigned to support the wider team.
- Hold designation as “Material Risk Personnel (MRP)” in line with MAS Individual Accountability and Conduct Guidelines.
- Comply with the bank’s Fit and Proper standards and Code of Conduct.
- Confirm and review your job description and balanced scorecard periodically, and complete MRP assessments with your Senior Manager.
- Specialize in AML/CFT transaction monitoring and review procedures.
- Act as a designated Compliance “Champion” for assigned regulatory meta-classes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a recognized degree in Business, Banking, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Have a minimum of five years experience focused on AML, sanctions, and ABC compliance areas.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of MAS Notice 626 and the accompanying guidelines.
- Possess operational knowledge of trade-based money laundering controls.
- Exhibit strong communication and writing skills; comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders across cultures and backgrounds.
- Be a proactive self-starter with excellent resourcefulness, independence, attention to detail, and teamwork capability while managing pressure effectively.
- Display ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Have solid data analytical skills with confidence in working with large datasets.
